Tobias Kowalik Clinches the Championship on the Mini Magic Mile
Tobias "T-Bone" Kowalik is 5 yrs old and is in his first full year racing karts. Tobias comes from a racing family. He started racing power wheels at the local kart tracks giving him something to do while his mom was racing outlaw karts.
He then moved up to his own kart at the age of 4.
It is a family sport as his mom races when she’s not helping out prepping Tobias’s kart, and
T-Bone's older brother and sister also help prepare the karts with his dad being the head crew chief of the team.

This past winter, Tobias "T Bone" Kowalik, competed in the Mid West Indoor Kart Series in Du Quoin, IL on a indoor dirt track.
The series runs from the end of November to the middle of March on the dirt track nicked named the “Mini Magic Mile”.
Tobias ran in the kid kart class designed to teach young drivers the skill they need to graduate up through the ranks of karts.
The average age of the drivers in this class are 4-6, and they run a 6.5 hp engine with a restrictor plate.
Tobias wrapped up the series on 3-19-11 with a total of 3 - 1st place finishes, 2 - 2nd place finishes, and
2 - 4th place finishes. He finished with an average finish of 2.1 for the 7 races. With 10 other competitors in his class, he clinched the championship on February 5th with one race left to be ran. He finished with 59 points over 2nd place to win the championship.

We are now looking forward to some local outdoor dirt races. We as a team and family are very proud of this talented little guy and the crew.
We have learned so much through racing. We have learned the determination that goes into winning, how to salvage the good in a bad day at the track, how to make sacrifices for the overall picture, and to enjoy the time spent with the family even on a shoe string budget.
Just want to thank everyone for such a great experience and all the support from Torchmate Racing. We look forward to a future with Torchmate Racing along with us in racing.
And to God, without Him, none of this would be possible.
