LOVELL 28 SECONDS TO LATE AT KING OF THE HAMMERS

"The 2010 running of King of the Hammers was an amazing race. There were easily 20,000 spectators riding in thousands of RV’s and buggies. It appeared there were 3 camps, a vendor show, and race course hidden somewhere in the middle. We were right in the thick of it trying to prepare for the biggest race of the year. King of the Hammers is THE rock race and the point was not missed in our camp. Over the past 3 months my brother and I spent all our time and money gambling for a win and we brought it all. Trailers, parts, tools, radios, and a massive crew of volunteers. We showed up early, ran the course, tuned the trucks, and months of effort cumulated into a sleepless night before the race." Dirt Sports Magazine 2009 Rock Racer of the Year

"On the eve of trying to repeat his overall victory at the Best-in-the Desert (BITD) Parker 425 desert race, defending event champion Andy McMillin capped off his monumental 2009 season by being honored by Dirt Sports Magazine and Ryan Communications Group (RCG) as Dirt Sports’ “2009 Driver of the Year.” The third
generation driver took top honors in this year’s selection, but was also joined by fellow racers Carl Renezeder as “2009 Short Course Racer of the Year,” Brad Lovell as “2009 Rock Racer of the Year,” and Jeff Ward, who took the magazine’s “2009 Rookie of the Year” title." Read more...

Congratulations from the Torchmate Racing Team to Andy McMillin as Dirt Sports Magazine 2009 Driver of the Year!

LOVELLS RECLAIM XRRA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

"Brad Lovell reclaimed the XRRA National Championship in high flying style at the legendary RAM Off-Road Park dethroning 2008 champion Shannon Campbell. The RAM Park features the largest jumps and most demanding course on the XRRA circuit. The effort was a repeat of Roger Lovell’s championship on the same
course only two years ago." Read on to see how the Torchmate Team speeds its way to the top of the scoreboard at the XRRA National Championship.

And don't miss the massive jump Brad Lovell managed to pull out of without going end over end...watch the video!

TORCHMATE RACING STRIVES FORTH IN ROCKS & DIRT

"The last two action packed weeks have been an exciting challenge for the Torchmate Racing team with events across the country. Kunz and Haines ignited the We-Rock eastern finals in Tennessee while the Lovell brothers put the hammer down at the XRRA finals in Colorado. The following weekend, Roger
Lovell and Bill Kunz tried their luck at the Lands End hill climb for a chance to race King of the Hammers in 2010." Click here for more on these three races.

Reno Rock Shootout and 2009 XRRA Series

Reno Rock Shootout and 2009 XRRA Series

"When Brad is not piloting his 232 AMSOIL-Torchmate Ranger he is driving his F-350 to and from competitions. This is when I get to practice my co-piloting skills which I sometimes use to aid Roger in his #32 Ford Ranger. Sure it’s not the same thing, we’re not dodging orange cones, but we are navigation a 60-foot long hauler through some of our nation’s largest cities, and that can be a feat to accomplish. Being a co-driver also means rehashing the event’s highlights and lowklights over, and over, and sometimes over again.

This weekend was no different. While nearly all our events fit in a busy schedule, Father’s Day weekend made for a conflict and caused the Colorado based team members to split forces. Roger raced back-to-back XRRA under #232 on Saturday and #32 on Sunday in Colorado Springs. This allowed both trucks to stay in the hunt for the season championship and freed Brad up to head to Reno, NV to defend the We-Rock championship and join team members Bill Kunz and Jesse Haines spotted by Mike Shaffer and Brian Howard, respectively in the We-Rock Round #3." TORCHMATE TRIFECTA IN COLORADO SPRINGS

ROC Racing - Colorado Springs"The 2nd Annual ROC Race has come and gone. The endurance rock race was held on a course with massive jumps, banked turns, punishing boulders, and near vertical climbs. If King of the Hammers is a combination of desert racing and rockcrawling, this is an equivalent juncture of short course and rockcrawling. The carefully sculpted jumps sent the trucks leaping into the air before being ripped and dented by the rock sections. As usual, the Torchmate Racing Team was right in the thick of it."

AMSOIL / TORCHMATE FORDS PUSH HARD IN MOAB

Below photo by Chad Jock Photography
Moab
"What a week. What a life. Racing can be the best job in the world and the worst. Our team came off a great high winning We-Rock in Tucson but literally as soon as we did, #232 developed an electrical
phantom. It chugged and puffed into the trailer where I started surgery. After replacing some high dollar parts, and with the help of the fine folks at Campbell Enterprises in Phoenix, I was convinced I solved the problem. Off we went to the land of red rocks and the Mecca of our sport – Moab, UT.

Upon arrival we headed out to Area BFE to tear it up a bit and refine the truck. I was having a great time on the rocks and in the dirt until flames started shooting out of the tailpipes..." Click here to read on.
